Stop Press:
Change of repertoire for the Phil’s Rep Night on Tuesday 18th September. For the first rehearsal night of the new season, we are now doing Prokofiev Symphony No. 5. A challenging play with something for everyone to get their teeth into but hopefully lots of fun too.

The work is scored for a big orchestra – the orchestration is 3343/4331/T5P/Hp.Pf/Str – and so we need a good turn-out from all sections please! Section leaders for wind, brass and percussion - please make sure every part is covered so that you have a full section for the night!

You can of course check out performances on You Tube or Spotify but unfortunately the parts are not available on IMSLP owing to an ongoing dispute with the publishers. So it will be sight-reading only!!
As well as exploring new repertoire, the Phil Rep Night is a great way to dust off the playing cobwebs, get stuck in to the new season and catch up with everyone else in the band. Do hope you can make it and we look forward to seeing you on the 18th.
