About the Norwich Phil

The Norwich Philharmonic Society was established in 1841 and has remained at the heart of the city’s musical life ever since. With a full-size symphony orchestra and a mixed chorus of some 120 voices, auditioned members perform a wide repertoire of large-scale works, joined by guest soloists of the highest calibre. The Phil performs four concerts of choral and/or orchestral music each season, augmented by occasional Children’s Concerts, plus a very popular Family Christmas Concert.
Many of our members kindly volunteer their time to ensure the Phil runs successfully, and the Society has always been a very sociable and welcoming community group as a result.

You can get involved with the Society by joining our orchestra or choir,  by sponsoring concerts, by becoming one of our Friends or Benefactors, or simply by signing up to our mailing list and coming along to our concerts.

The Society is a registered charity (No. 264425), see details, and is a member of Making Music which supports amateur music making across the UK.
