conducted by Matthew Andrews
For our second concert of the season we bring a programme of Czech music to the Norfolk Events Centre, with Norwich-bred celilst Thomas Isaac the soloist in Dvorak’s glorious Cello Concerto. Tom grew up in Norfolk but he is now the very highly regarded Principal Cello of the Ulster Orchestra and a rising star of the future.
The other main work in the programme is a rarely-heard masterpiece by Leos Janacek, Taras Bulba. It has long been an aspiration of conductor Matthew Andrews to perform this n extraordinary work, a setting of a rather macabre novel by Nicolas Gogol, and we are excited to be playing this colourful and thrilling music for the first time.
The delightful Scherzo Fantastique by Dvorak’s son-in-law Josef Suk, completes the programme.
Tickets priced from £15 to £25 (£8 to £12 for under 26) are available online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/norwichphil
