Benjamin Britten: War Requiem

Lee Bissett – soprano
James Gilchrist – tenor
Gareth Brynmor John – baritone
Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus
conducted by Matthew Andrews and Ashley Grote

The year 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Benjamin Britten and to celebrate this milestone, we open our new season with a performance of his deeply moving War Requiem.
Not only was Britten a major figure in 20th-century British music, he was of course East Anglian born and bred, with very close associations with Norwich. Many of our supporters will remember the Phil’s performance of the War Requiem in 2013 as our contribution to his centenary celebrations. On this occasion we are very excited to have internationally acclaimed tenor, James Gilchrist, heading up a trio of star soloists in this dramatic and powerful work.

Tickets priced from £15 to £35 (£8 to £18 for under 26) are available online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/norwichphil
